Tuesday 27th May 2025, the KPA NAIROBI BRANCH conducted a student mentorship program at the KMTC-NAIROBI Campus for all the third year (final year) Pharmacy students.
As part of our ongoing commitment to professional excellence, the Kenya Pharmaceutical Association (KPA) is dedicated to building the capacity of students and emerging pharmacy professionals who are poised to join the pharmacy workforce. We firmly believe in nurturing the next generation of pharmacy professionals through structured mentorship initiatives designed to equip them with the skills, knowledge, and values required to deliver pharmaceutical excellence in the industry. In order to effectively achieve this; KPA has mapped out all the Diploma in Pharmaceutical technology training institutions including KMTC-Nairobi Campus and created a yearly schedule on how we are conducting the mentorship programs. We have also come up with key areas of mentorship interests that are reviewed periodically.
Key discussion points during yesterday’s mentorship session included:
1. Pharmacy Practice & Regulations.
2. Job market and Networking opportunities.
3. Community Pharmacy Practice.
4. Pharmaceutical Marketing.
5. Opportunities in Industrial pharmacy.
6. KPA value propositions.
The mentorship program was successfully conducted and made possible through valued support of Shalina Healthcare Kenya . The mentorship session combined dynamic learning with achievement recognition, as students received awards including brand new Lab coats and many other branded merchandise during and after the interactive program.
