The Sub Committee on Self-Regulation
The Sub Committee on Self-Regulation is responsible for overseeing compliance with professional standards, codes of ethics, guidelines and regulations within the pharmaceutical industry and those of the Association. This sub-committee works to uphold the integrity and reputation of the pharmacy profession by promoting self-regulation practices and monitoring adherence to guidelines.
The Sub Committee on Self-Regulation within the Kenya Pharmaceutical Association (KPA) Nairobi Branch plays a critical role in promoting and upholding professional standards, ethics, and compliance within the pharmacy profession. a). Implementing Code of Ethics, Self-Regulations Standards and other related Self-Regulation standards guidelines: The Sub-committee is responsible for implementing all the direct ethical documents that outline the professional standards and conduct expected of pharmaceutical technologist and pharmacy professionals as a whole. This committee serves to guide members from time to time to adhere to ethical practices in their professional roles.
b). Monitoring Compliance: The Sub-Committee monitors and evaluates the compliance of KPA Nairobi Branch members with the established code of ethics, laws, regulations, and professional standards. They conduct regular reviews and assessments to ensure that members are upholding ethical practices and maintaining high standards of professionalism.
c). Providing Guidance and Education: The Sub committee offers guidance, training, and educational resources to KPA Nairobi Branch members on ethical practices, professional conduct, and compliance with regulations. They may organize workshops, seminars, or training sessions to promote awareness and understanding of ethical standards within the profession.
d). Collaborating with Regulatory Bodies: The Sub committee works closely with regulatory bodies, government agencies, and professional organizations to align self-regulatory practices with external regulations and standards. They collaborate on initiatives to strengthen regulatory compliance and enhance the professionalism of the pharmacy profession.
e). Promoting Accountability and Transparency: The Sub committee promotes accountability and transparency within the pharmacy profession by encouraging open communication, ethical decision-making, and responsible behavior among KPA Nairobi Branch members. They emphasize the importance of integrity, honesty, and accountability in all aspects of professional practice.
